Fundamental #19:  Wrist-Elbow Lock

Warning: Do not attempt this without a qualified AOKK jujitsu instructor’s supervision. 

Uke: Lapel Grab or Choke.

Note: This fundamental can also be performed if Uke performs a Crossbody Lapel Choke. The student should practice both scenarios. 
Note: If you are performing this fundamental from a choke, in it is important to clear your airway, but occasionally going on the offensive can be advantages. This is especially true when the attacker is facing you. Women can also claw to the eyes and face as-well-as slap the ears.

  1. Tori: Trap Uke’s hand. (RH)
  2. Tori: Execute an ear slap (LH).
  3. Tori: Execute a bent wrist elbow lock and drop the opponent to his/her knees.
  4. Tori: Knee or Kick to the face.
  5.  Tori: Stepover drop armbar.

Purpose of Technique Fundamental #19:

The purpose of Fundamental nineteen is to teach the wrist elbow lock. It also shows the student that the techniques found in the Fundamentals can be used in differing attacks.

Note: Not all opponents are unskilled. Some may have training. In this fundamental the attacker understands the basic cross hand choke using the material of your clothing.
