Part-1 Attacker: Grabs Wrist after Back Knuckle Strike
  • Trap the hand that grabbed the wrist by placing your hand on top of theirs.
Part-2 Defender: Wrist-locks Attacker
  • Rotate your fist over the attacker’s wrist in a clockwise motion. Once you’re on top of the attacker’s wrist press downwards.
  • Place the attacker in a wristlock.
  • Push forward and downward to increase pressure on wristlock.
  • Push the wrist lock forwards to increase pressure on the lock. It looks like a Vertical snap punch.

Note: When the attacker leans froward to relieve pressure on the wristlock elbow strike. Locks are to position the attacker for another technique.

  • Grab the back of the attacker’s head.
  • Execute a rising-elbow strike.

Theory: For this technique to be successful the attacker’s elbow cannot move. Surprise can be advantageous, but you may need to use the elbow of the hand that traps the attacker’s hand to stop the attacker from rolling or turning out of the technique.  Remember the wristlock is simply a diversion and not the stopping technique.
