MO1.8 Basic Mount Technique- [Top/Full Mount]

This position “The Top Mount” is normally seated above the hip line. Once above the hip line you should begin raining down strikes. Keep your knees spread and control uke’s hip with your feet. Spreading your knees makes it difficult to role you from the top mount position.

If you cannot get above the hip line, this position can be used to control the opponent’s legs. There will be a times you cannot get above the hipline. In this event, this mount can still be used to control the opponent. Tying up their legs, allows you to punch, elbow, or execute a submission. If you find yourself in this mount, be patient and work your legs until you’re seated above the hip line. Target blows to the chin, solar-plexus, bladder, temple, and groin. Your feet are used to limit the opponent’s hip shifting.
