[KS12.0] Basic Mount Technique-[Palm Heel Strike]
[KS12.0] Basic Mount Technique-[Palm Heel Strike]
When the opponent places you in the guard, striking is not eliminated from the fight. Never stop striking the opponent. Striking with fist, lends to the fighter breaking bones in the hand. I’ve had a boxer’s fracture and it is not fun. Striking with the palm, spreads the impact of the blow across the padding of the hand.
Warning: Never, purposely follow an attacker to the ground.
Execution:
- Student is in the guard or in top or full mount.
- Strike with the palm heel strike.
Note: Do not let the grappler grab your arm. However, you may want to tie-up one of the opponent’s arms while you strike with the other.
Note: Try to break the opponent’s nose to get blood flowing.
Target Area:
- Nose
- Jaw
- Throat
Note: After the reverse elbow, follow it with knees strikes, headbutts, and closed and open hand strikes.
