MC27.0 Half-Cross-Face (Neck Lock)

MC27.0 Half-Cross-Face (Neck Lock)

The reverse guillotine with crossbody armbar combination is a response to a punch or a single hand grasp of you clothing. It is one of the more violent responses to an assault. It is also part of the fundamentals.

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.

Note: Uke will either go face-down or into a turtle. The turtle is the worst position you can be in while grappling. If your being attacked by multiple attackers, it could protect you from punches and kicks. Still it is not a good position to be in this scenario. The turtle position is a worst-case scenario.

Execution:
  • Uke shoots in for a Morote-gari or double leg takedown.
  • Two hand strike to uke’s shoulders stopping his/her forward momentum.
  • Drop your body weight on uke’s back driving your elbows into uke’s back.
  • Wrap your arms around uke’s neck like you’re going for a choke.
  • Slide your forearm along uke’s chin turning his/her head and tie off to your other hand.

Note: This should turn ukes head sideways. If uke’s head is not facing sideways the lock will not work.

  • Arch your back and lock uke’s neck.
