MC8.0 Forearm Choke [Grapevine from the Rear]:
This choke can be made if uke goes to the turtle position. The jujitsu practitioner never, if possible, gives up his/her back. This can be a counterattack if you’ve used the sprawl and spin defense and gained access to the opponent’s back.
Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.
Execution:
- Push forearm under Uke’s chin while on his/her back.
- Pull back on the forearm with your other arm to increase pressure.
- Uke can be pulled backwards or to the side.
- Once behind uke, push forward with your head to increase pressure until Uke goes to sleep.
- Wrap your legs around Uke’s body to control his/he movement
- Release the choke if uke taps, or the attacker passes out.
