SC12.0 Rear Naked Choke (Hadaka-jime)

SC12.0 Rear Naked Choke (Hadaka-jime)

This technique is especially useful in that it is both a choke and a strangle. It compresses the windpipe and carotid arteries.

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.

Execution:

Attacker Punches or grabs you.

  • Parry block the attacker’s punch while stepping outside and around the attacker. While moving drive an elbow into the opponent’s face. Continue to get behind them. (Loosening-up Technique)

Note: You can also use a duck-under technique to get behind an opponent if they grab you.

  • Wrap the forearm around the front of the throat.
  • Place the palm of the other hand in the bend of the elbow.
  • Bend that elbow backwards and tie-off the attacker or the back of your head.
  • Push the opponent’s head forward.
  • Release the coke when uke taps or the attacker is unconscious.

Note: Placing your hand behind your head increases pressure on the choke.

Note: This technique can also be performed on the ground too.
