[ML4.08] Heel Hook Lock from Behind (Uke Face Down)

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.   

Execution:

After your throw uke forwards (Tai-otoshi)

  • Uke should land on their face.
  • Push them downwards before they can turn and place you in the guard or stand-up.
  • Wrap your leg around uke’s.
  • Uke’s foot should be in your hip crease so he she cannot pull it away.
  • Tie-off to uke’s leg using your foot.
  • Lean forwards to apply the pressure.

Note: The pressure is on the knee joint and can include joint separation pain.

  • Release the lock when uke taps.
