SL5. 2 Inner Wrist Lock
SL5. 2 Inner Wrist Lock:
Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.
Execution:
Attacker grabs your right lapel, wrist, or shoulder with his/her left hand.
- Trap the attacker’s left hand with your left hand [opposite side as grasp].
- Punch the attacker to the face [Loosening Technique]
Note: The attacker’s first reaction is to let go after the loosening-up technique. Therefore, we trap the hand.
- Shuto strike to the attacker’s elbow-joint with the right hand if he/ she has not released their grip.
- Once the attacker releases their grip, wrap the trapping hand around the attacker’s little finger.
- Place your thumb on the back of the attacker’s hand between the attacker’s two middle knuckles.
- Bend the wrist so the hand points toward the attacker.
- Twist the hand clockwise, so pressure is applied to the wrist.
- As soon as the attacker’s balance is broken your right, you must apply a finishing technique.
Note: Locks are not finishing techniques. Their purpose is to move the attacker into a position where a finishing technique can be applied.
Example:
Finishing technique possibilities throw, elbow lock, or shoulder Lock.
