SL5.3 Inner Wrist Lock and Arm-bar with Elbow Pressure

SL5.3 Inner Wrist Lock and Arm-bar with Elbow Pressure

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.

Note: Standing locks are not finishing techniques. They’re used to move an attacker into a position where a finishing technique can be applied.

Execution:

Attacker grabs your right lapel, wrist, or shoulder with his/her left hand.

  • Trap the attacker’s left hand with your left hand [opposite side as grasp].
  • Punch the attacker to the face [Loosening Technique]

Note: The attacker’s first reaction is to let go after the loosening-up technique. Therefore, we trap the hand.

  • Shuto strike to the attacker’s elbow-joint with the right hand if he/ she has not released their grip.
  • Once the attacker releases their grip, wrap the trapping hand around the attacker’s little finger.
  • Place your thumb on the back of the attacker’s hand between the attacker’s two middle knuckles.
  • Grasp the attacker’s wristlock with both hands.
  • Bend the wrist so the hand points toward the attacker.
  • Roll the arm until the attacker’s elbow points upward.
  • Twist the hand clockwise, so pressure is applied to the wrist.
  • Rotate your elbow on top of the attacker’s elbow and press down with your elbow.
  • As soon as the attacker’s balance is broken forward, pull his/ her elbow under your armpit and drop your body weight on the joint.
