SL5.4 Finger Lock

SL5.4 Finger Lock:

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.

Note: These locks are not finishing techniques. Their purpose is to get the attacker to move into a position where the finishing technique can be applied.

Execution:

Attacker pushes with palm against your chest.

  • Trap the attacker’s hand flat against your chest.

Note: Trap the attacker’s hand using the hand on same side as the attacker’s hand. In other words, your right hand on his/her right hand.

  • Wrap you fingers around his. His palm will still be facing your chest.
  • Place the blade of your second hand at the base of the attacker’s wrist, or elbow if he/she tries to reverse the lock.
  • Snap-kick the attacker’s groin. [Loosening Technique]
  • Twist the attacker’s hand so that his/her little finger points towards the attacker’s rear hip while pushing backwards against the attacker’s wrist

Note: This is a great lock for women because there is no power used to twist the wrist into a traditional wristlock. You simply grasp the wrist and twist the fingers sideways and backwards.
