This is a simple counter to the common bear-hug. It’s not fancy, but it demonstrates effective range-two techniques. This is a technique found in our karate kata.
Execution:
Attacker places you in a standing rear Bear-hug.
Grasp the attacker’s wrists with both of your hands.
Drive your head backwards into the attacker, or stomp on his/her foot.
Note: You can also use your elbows to loosen up the attacker’s grip or strike with your buttocks.
Move your hips sideways and slip one leg behind the adversary.
