Note: One of the simplest techniques that a student learns is how to strip the adversary’s hand from the weapon. This bunkai helps with that development.
Guarding Position:
Adversary:
Standing in the guarding position
Defender:
Thrust the Bo under the attacker’s weapon between his/her hands and strike the abdomen.
Turn your body sideways while rotating the end of the Bo and pulling your weapon to your chest.
Note: This should pull the opponent’s lead hand from the weapon.
Note: In the kata this is the endo the series of technique, but to make the bunkai more viable you must add an ending attack.
