[11.5.0] Section-11 Kaishaku: Counter to a Reverse Punch or Lapel Grab

Part-1 Attacker: Punches with Right Hand or Grabs Lapel
Part-2 Defender: Parry Blocks and Elbow Locks Attacker
  • (Punch)Parry block with your left-hand (LH) and push the punch to the right.
  • (Grab) Trap the hand on the lapel and strike with your free hand while pushing the trapped hand downward. (Loosening-up Technique)

Note: Maintain control of the attacker’s wrist.

  • With your right-hand (RH) ridge hand strike the top of the attacker’s elbow joint causing him\her arm to bend.
  • Place to attacker in a Birdwing lock.
  • Slide the left arm inside and lock the joint.
  • Remove the right hand from the lock.
  • Use the right hand to pin the lock or apply pressure to the attacker’s shoulder.
Part-3 Defender: Trip and Throw Attacker

Note: To escape from this lock the opponent will try to roll out of it. You must counter this roll.

  • Step in front of attacker’s supporting leg and spin 180° throwing the attacker over your leg.
  • Land on top of the adversary. Hold him/her until help arrives or uke taps.
