[12.2.3] Seisan Bunkai Section-12: Counter to a Double Leg Takedown

[12.2.3] Section-12 Kaishaku: Counter to a Double Leg Takedown

[Source:] Jujitsu Black-belt
[Rating:] AOKK Preferred Bunkai
Part-1 Attacker: Tries a Double Leg Takedown (Morote-gari or a Tackle)
Part-2 Defender: Traps Attacker’s Head and Stomach Throws the Opponent
  • Trap the adversary’s head.
  • Wrap one arm around his/her head and turn the head sideways locking the neck.
  • Wrap the other arm around his/her head and press against the attacker’s throat.

Note: The last step places them in a guillotine choke.

  • Twist the attacker’s neck and drop your body and drop backwards into a stomach throw (Tomoe-nage) and throw the attacker by his/her neck.
  • Quickly get back to your feet.

Warning: The figures do not show the head turned sideways. This is a very dangerous technique when applied in this manner and should only be taught to the most trusted students. When practicing this technique place your arms around the attacker but tie-off to their uniform and not their neck. To test this on a student place them in neck lock and lift slightly with your legs to demonstrate the techniques potential.
