[14.2.1] Kusanku Part-A Section-14 Kaishaku: Counter to Wrist Grab

Part-1 Attacker: Grabs Your Wrist.
Part-2 Defender:
  • Trap the attacker’s arm rolling their wrist and grasping their arm. (LH)
  • Pull back into an “L” stance. [Break the opponent’s balance]

Note: You can place the attacker in a wristlock .

Part-3 Attacker: Tries to Pull Away.
Part-4 Defender:
  • Step forwards and pull the attacker’s trapped arm to your chest. (LH)
  • Move forward and Spear finger strike below the chin. (RH)
  • Wrap your right arm around the attacker’s neck and grab hair, collar, ear, chin, or fishhook the attacker’s jaw. The neck alone can also facilitate the throw.

Note: Tie off the R-H to the attacker’s collar if you cannot grasp hair, ear, chin, or fishhook the attacker’s jaw.

  • Spin 360˚ degrees and twist the attacker’s head and pull him/her forward.
  • Throw or spin the attacker to the ground by their head, lapel, or neck.
  • When the attacker falls to the ground make your escape.

Note: If you lose your balance, try to land on the attacker.
