[8.6.0] Chinto Section-8 Kaishaku: Counter to a Wrist Grab

Part-1 Attacker: Grabs Your Right Wrist

Note: An attacker will grasp your wrist to keep you in their range of combat. This usually follows a sucker punch.

Part-2 Defender: Shuto Block, Trap
  • Rotate your hand and perform a snake hands release. (RH)
  • Regrasp the attacker’s wrist. (RH)
  • Execute an Opening up technique by hammer fist strike to the attacker’s temple.
Part-3 Attacker: Blocks the Hammer-fist
Part-4 Defender: Shuto Block, Trap
  • Trap the attacker’s wrist (LH).
  • Place your (RH) on top of the attacker’s hand and bend his/her fingers backwards.
  • Figure four the attacker’s hand and wrist (LH).
  • Turn 180° and throw the attacker via the figure-four wrist lock with tai-otoshi.

Warning: Release the lock before throwing your partner to prevent damaging their hand.
