[2.8.0] Seiunchin Section-2 Kaishaku: Counter to a Front Kick

[Source:] Bubishi [Little Demons Remove Their Boots]
[Rating:] Basic
Part-1 The Attacker Front Kicks.
Part-2 Defender: Traps Kick and Hammer Strikes Groin
  • Hook the kicking leg with the rear arm if he attempts to kick high.
  • Strike with the lead hand to break his/her balance backwards.

Information: You’re not using both hands as seen in the demonstration of the kata. By showing both hands some instructors believe that you’re exercising both sides of the body. In other words the technique can be performed on either side but still has one side high and one side low.

Part-3 Attacker: Punches
Part-4 Defender: Spear-finger Strikes
  • When attacker is off balance after missing his/her target spear-finger strike to the soft tissue area.

Note: Once the adversary is on one leg, he/she can be thrown in any direction.
