[5.2.0] Seiunchin Section-5 Bunkai: Counter to a Lead Hand Punch

[5.2.0] Seiunchin Section-5 Kaishaku: Counter to a Lead Hand Punch

[Source:] Jujitsu Black-belt
[Rating:] Basic

Note: This is only the double archer shutos portion.

Part-1 Attacker: Punches (or grabs)
Part-2 Defender: Arm-bar and Throw
  • Block with the rear arm and grab the punching or reaching arm with your blocking arm.
  • Step into a Seiuchin stance with your lead leg behind the attacker’s.
  • Shoot the lead hand over the top of the trapped arm and in front of the attacker’s throat.
  • Rotate the punching arm so the elbow is pressing against your chest.
  • Push backwards against the attacker’s throat.

Theory: The attacker will arch his/her back and grab your hand.

  • Extend your leg and throw the attacker backwards. (tani-otoshi)

Information: This kaishaku looks very similar to the Shaolin Chin-na versions.
