Part-1 Attacker Reaches to Grab and Control Your Movement:
Part-2 Defender: Grasp Shoulders to Break the Attacker’s Balance and Throw
  • Grasp the attacker’s right shoulder with one hand and his left shoulder with the other.
  • Pull the attackers right shoulder clockwise and push the attacker’s opposite shoulder with the left hand.
  • When the attacker resists and applies pressure in the direction you’re trying to break their balance, take them in the direction they’re pushing. Reverse your throw. Push with the right hand and pull with your left.
  • Break the attacker’s balance high at the shoulders and reduce the friction between his/her feet and the floor.
  • Sweep the knee just below the kneecap and take the attacker to the ground.

Information: To break an attacker’s balance you must move the shoulders first. Try to get the attacker on one foot. You maintain balance more easily when you have two points of contact with the floor. Once the opponent is on one foot they can be thrown in any direction.
