AOKK Kumite Parry Block

AOKK Kumite Parry Block

A parry block with the power hand means that your hips are forward and you have most likely delivered a Cross or Hook punch. This block redirects the opponent’s straight right to outside your body. It too can push the opponent’s punch outside your body or downward. This block is only a temporary save. You must counter with a power jab as you return to a balanced stance and move out of the opponent’s range of combat. Remember to tuck and cover the chin with the power hand when the hips rotate for the Power Jab.

The parry block can be made with the rear hand also. The parry block can deflect the attack inside or to the outside of the body. The blow can be parry blocked downward or upward
