AOKK Kumite Shoulder Block
AOKK Shoulder Block
When the opponent throws a Straight Right, rotate the shoulder to take the blow. Place the rear hand in front of the chin. The lead hand can point down or the lead hand can cover the solar plexus. Covering the solar plexus causes the point of the elbow to face the opponent. If the lead hand is covering the solar plexus, the lead hand can be snapped forward in a Back-fist or Flicker Jab as the opponent pulls his/her punch back.
The shoulder is a big muscle group. It can absorb the impact. Once this block is made it should be followed with a counter attack.
