AOKK Kumite: Swaying Technique

Swaying is when the trunk of the body is moved right or left to avoid being struck. This is primarily used to avoid straight punches like a jab or cross. You cannot sway far enough to minimize the sting of hook. This technique can keep you inside the opponent’s ring of combat allowing you to counterattack. Sway and let the opponent’s punch slip past you. As his arm is pulling the fist back, return to a balanced position while simultaneously throwing a jab and cross combination.
