[5.4.1] Urashi-no-Kun Bunkai Series-5: (Sword Attack, Hand Removal)

Note: Using the Bo against a blade, will cause the Bo to be chopped up. When the Bo gets chopped up you cannot slide your hands up and down the weapon to control it. Remember the lead hand is your main target.

Rule: If you cannot hold the weapon, you cannot utilize it.

Attacker:

• Swings diagonal cut towards the lead hand.

Defender:

• Lift your hand off the weapon to prevent losing your lead hand.
• Regrip the weapon.
• Thrust the Bo into the attacker.

Note: You must keep theh Bo under control withboth hands. You cannot control the weapon with one hand.

Note: The blade may cut into the Bo where you placed your hand, so you may need to grip the weapon in a different location. .

Information: This bunkai is designed to practice releasing and regripping the weapon. Sometimes the weapon gets knocked from your grasp, so you need to practice regripping the weapon. You cannot effectively wield a long range weapon with one hand.
