10.1.1] Shi Shi-No-Kun Bunkai Series-10: (Knee Drop, Diagonal Strike)

(Kata Series 4) (Step-20,21,22,23)
Attacker:
  • High overhead horizontal circular strike.
Defender:
  • Step back and drop to one knee.
  • Diagonal block the opponent’s strike with the front of the Bo.
  • Diagonal strike to the opponent’s ribs or hip joint.

Note: Take the target that presents itself.

Attacker:
  • Underhand strike

Note: This is a natural counter after the initial block.

Defender:
  • Stand-up and low underhand strike.
  • Strike downward, with the front of the weapon, as you pull back into the guarding position.

Note: It is never a good idea to go to one knee.

Note: In a confrontation you can slip and find yourself on one knee.  This does not mean that the fight is over. Knowing how to respond when or if this happens is a good idea.
