(Kata Series 4) (Step-20,21,22,23)
Attacker:
- High overhead horizontal circular strike.
Defender:
- Step back and drop to one knee.
- Diagonal block the opponent’s strike with the front of the Bo.
- Diagonal strike to the opponent’s ribs or hip joint.
Note: Take the target that presents itself.
Attacker:
- Underhand strike
Note: This is a natural counter after the initial block.
Defender:
- Stand-up and low underhand strike.
- Strike downward, with the front of the weapon, as you pull back into the guarding position.
Note: It is never a good idea to go to one knee.
Note: In a confrontation you can slip and find yourself on one knee. This does not mean that the fight is over. Knowing how to respond when or if this happens is a good idea.
