MC5.0 Guillotine Choke [Grapevine with Hip Stretch]

MC5.0 Guillotine Choke [Grapevine with Hip Stretch]

This is a very effective choke against a pure grappler. When they shoot forwards for a double leg take-down warp your arm around his/her throat and sit back. I have seen this work countless times when the aggressor places his/her head to the side of the thigh.

Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present.

Execution:
  • Wrap your arm around the attacker’s throat and tie off to your clothing. The inside bone of the forearm should be pressed into the throat of the attacker.
  • After wrapping your arm around the attacker’s throat, push backwards with your legs on his/her hips and arch your back to increase the pressure on the choke.
  • Release the choke if uke taps, or the attacker passes out.

Note: When this is practiced enough, it will become an automatic response.

Warning: This is only meant to hold the attacker until help can arrive. It is not a conflagration ending technique.
