[ML1.11] Arm-bar Variation-1 [From the Guarding Position]
Warning: This technique should only be practiced with a qualified AOKK instructor present
Execution:
- Grasp the opponent’s arm as he/she reaches forward to grab or choke you.
- Wrap your same side leg around the trapped arm and hook your foot under the opponent’s chin.
- Straighten the leg and apply pressure to the opponent’s elbow. Arch your back and shift your hips to increase pressure on the lock.
- Release the lock if uke taps
Note: Focus on putting pressure on the joint.
